Institutes for Systems Genetics
In February 2018, with the support of West China Hospital, the Institute of Systems Genetics was officially established. The centre aims to integrate data, information and knowledge at various omics levels, integrate multidisciplinary approaches to understand the genetic problem of human rare diseases, and promote cutting-edge research in systems-level medicine.
West China Hospital
The Department of Anaesthesiology of West China Hospital, Sichuan University was officially established as an independent department in 1978 and is the birthplace of the modern standardised residency training system in China. It leads the development of visual anaesthesia in China and innovates many visual anaesthesia techniques worldwide. In 2018, the "Research on perioperative risk classification and differentiated management techniques for the elderly" was funded by the National Key R&D Programme of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The department's reputation and overall strength have been ranked first in China in the list of best specialties in Chinese hospitals for nine consecutive years.
The Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University
Established in 1982, the Department of Anaesthesiology of the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University is a first-class clinical department of the provincial general hospital, integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research. Strong scientific research strength, undertaking a number of national natural science foundation, provincial natural science foundation, clinical drug research, multi-centre clinical research and other scientific research projects. It enjoys a high reputation in the national anaesthesiology circle. In 2009, it became the first "National Drug Clinical Trial Base for Anaesthesia" in Shanxi Province, and in 2020, it was named the first "National Key Residential Training Base" for Anaesthesia in Shanxi Province.
